Maruti Suzuki India Limited 2024 Company to Use Indian Railways to Send Out Two Million Vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki is the first car firm in India to ship more than two million vehicles by railways, setting a new standard in environmentally friendly logistics. Between FY 2014–15 and FY 2023–24, the company’s railway dispatches increased from 65,700 units to 447,750 units. Maruti Suzuki India Limited 2024 provides a safer and more energy-efficient option to road transportation by using rail to serve over 450 locations and 20 destinations. Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, commented on the milestone as follows:
More than ten years ago, Maruti Suzuki became the first firm in India to get the Automobile-Freight-Train-Operator license, thereby pioneering the use of railways for car shipments. Since then, the business has steadily raised the proportion of vehicles it dispatches via railroads. Our consistent efforts in green logistics have yielded remarkable outcomes, such as a total decrease of over 10,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions and a cumulative savings of almost 270 million liters of gasoline.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited 2024 Company.
Our production capacity will nearly double to 4 million units by FY 2030–31, and we intend to increase the percentage of vehicles dispatched via railroads to nearly 35% during the following 7–8 years. We are steadfast in our commitment to the Indian government’s 2070 net-zero
emissions goal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the first in-plant railway siding at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat factory earlier this year, with a capacity of 300,000 automobiles annually, as part of the PM Gati Shakti initiative. In keeping with the Sustainable Development Goal #13, which addresses climate action, another siding project is currently under construction at the Manesar factory.
