The Next 1 EV from Toyota Will Challenge Tesla’s Autonomous Driving.
Beginning in China the following year, Toyota intends to compete with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology.
The Japanese carmaker, in partnership with Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC), intends to introduce the Bozhi 3X electric SUV in 2025. This model promises high-end Level 2 functionality similar to Tesla’s FSD, along with sophisticated autonomous driving capabilities.
GAC According to Toyota, the autonomous technology would provide advanced driving support in cities, on highways, and when parking. Toyota and Momenta Global, a technology partner renowned for its work with Mercedes-Benz, are working together to develop this system.

Furthermore, Toyota and the massive Chinese telecom company Huawei are working together to develop in-car operating software with autonomous driving capabilities for a new electric sedan that will make its Chinese debut in 2025.
Toyota offers internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid, hydrogen-powered, and electric vehicle (EV) vehicles as part of its multi-pathway strategy. Within the next two to three years, the company also intends to launch an iron phosphate lithium battery, which could lower the bZ4x electric SUV’s production costs by as much as 40%.
