At BMW Group Plant Leipzig, the first 4-generation BMW 1 Series, a BMW 120 in Alpine White, has come off the assembly line. The luxury small car is only made at this Saxony facility, where up to 500 vehicles can be produced daily. When the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, and MINI Countryman are added, Plant Leipzig’s daily production capacity reaches 1,300 vehicles. October 2024 is when the new BMW 1 Series is scheduled to go on sale.

In its nearly 20-year history in the small class, BMW’s new model represents a crucial turning point. Over 1.3 million BMW 1 Series have been produced at Plant Leipzig since the start of production in 2007. Nearly 443,000 third-generation BMW 1 Series cars had been delivered to customers as of June 2024.
With its aggressive design, updated drive portfolio, and enhanced chassis technology, First New BMW 1 Series Unit Rolls the new BMW 1 Series lives up to its reputation as the sportiest car in its class. Its aerodynamic aspect is further enhanced by its lower stance and flat front end, which are matched by a wide radiator grille that leans forward and features unique vertical and diagonal bars. With standard LED headlights, it has a recognizable “four-eyed” appearance.

Its forceful presence is enhanced by the two-part rear lights, a black diffuser-style insert, and a prominent apron with vertical reflectors on the back design. The interior of the new BMW 1 Series is standard and has a revised cockpit with the BMW Curved Display in place of leather upholstery. For an even more dynamic appearance, an optional M Sport Package and M Sport Design equipment option are offered at launch.
On October 5, the new BMW 1 Series will go on sale. Its main markets are anticipated to be Germany, Europe, the UK, and Italy.
